Tomato Peanut Chutney - A flavourful No Onion No Garlic dip!

Amma can whip up any ingredient and combinations thereof to finger licking, delicious Chutneys! Tomato Peanut Chutney is one more jewel in her list of Chutneys which is so YUM and very easy to make.

This Chutney is simply delicious along with almost all SouthIndian Snacks be it Idli, Dosa, Vada, Uttapam, Upama, Venpongal!

Tomato Peanut Chutney

INGREDIENTS

2 Tomato, small, roughly chopped
2 tblsp Peanut, dry roasted
3 Green Chilli
1/4 tsp Salt | To taste
For Tempering
1/2 tsp Oil
1/2 tsp Rai | Mustard Seeds
1/2 tsp Urad Dal
1 Sukhi Lal Mirch | Dried Red Chilli
4 Kadhi Patta | Curry Leaves
A pinch Hing | Asafoetida Powder

METHOD
  • Grind to a smooth paste, adding little water, Tomato, dry roasted Peanut, Green Chilli and Salt.
  • Adjust consistency as per preference, by adding required water.
  • In a kadhai, prepare tempering by heating oil. Once Oil is hot add rai, urad dal, curry leaf, dried red chilli and hing. 
  • Once rai crackles, pour the tempering on top of the chutney.
  • Serve along with Idli | Dosa | Uttappam | Upama | Venpongal.
We relished this amazing Tomato Peanut Chutney along with Idli with Idli Rava.
